Rissoles

The one food that rivals meat and dairy products in nutritive value and has none of the ill-effects is --- Sprouts.


Sprouts are the healthy way of meeting protein and vitamin-C needs of our body. Low fat, high fibre, no cholesterol, abundant vitamin-A, vitamin-C, high protein - sprouts have a lot to recommend that it be included as a part of every diet. Eating sprouts is indeed a very important part of healthy eating. Sprouts are versatile and may be used to make Salads, Pancakes, Pesarat, Curries, Sundal, Khichadi, etc.



RISSOLES - with Moong bean (Green Gram - whole) sprouts! A tasty way to introduce sprouts to little ones and a jiffy snack. These can also be used as stuffing in Felafel.




Ingredients:
1½ cup Sprouts (Green gram sprouts)
3Tbsp Coriander leaves
2 Green Chillies
1" Ginger
1 clove Garlic (optional)
2 Onions, minced
¼ tsp Baking powder
1 Tbsp Cornflour/Gramflour
1 tsp Sesame seeds
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying


Method:
Grind sprouts with ginger, chillies, garlic (if using) and corriander leaves.
DO NOT USE WATER. The maximum you could use is a teaspoon or two.
Add minced onions, flour, salt and baking powder. Mix very well.
Heat oil and drop spoonfuls of batter in. Deep fry over a medium flame.
Serve hot with tangy Tomato Sauce.

Tangy Tomato Sauce
Mix tomato sauce with green or red chilli sauce to suit your taste.
