Aval/Poha ½ cup
Ghee 4 Tbsp
Milk ½ litre
Jaggery ¼ cup
Sugar ¼ cup; or to taste
Cardamom Pd 3, powdered
Dry Ginger Pd ¼ tsp
Cashew nuts 10
Heat 2 Tbsp ghee and fry aval/poha in it until it changes color. Powder coarsely.
Heat remaining ghee and roast cashews and raisins. Keep aside.
Bring milk to a boil and simmer until it becomes 2 cups.
Cook powdered aval/poha with just enough water. When nearly done, add thickened milk and simmer for 3 minutes. Add jaggery and sugar to taste. Simmer for 4 minutes.
Add Cardamom and Dry ginger pd. Mix well and simmer.
Add cashew nuts and raisins fried in ghee.
