Pazhap Payasam

A dessert personalized by my mother and served with a lot of love at her wonderful dinners. Mildly flavoured, brimming with fruits and the goodness of milk; and, relished by all.

Pazhap Payasam


Milk 1 Litre

Orange 1

Apple 1

Mango 1

Grapes 100 grams

Pomegranate ¼ cup, optional

Condensed milk ¼ cup, optional

Sugar to taste


Boil milk in a heavy bottomed pan.

Simmer until reduced by one third. Cool.

Segment the orange carefully. Peel, deseed and chop the other fruits.

Mix sweetened condensed milk and fruits to the reduced milk.

Add sugar to taste; if needed.

Chill for 2 hours. Serve chilled.
