Basil Tomato Chutney
My sister's favourite recipe is the Kadamba Chutney that she makes with Corriander, Mint and Curry Leaves.
We bought some fresh Basil and we decided to substitute the herbs.
It was Yummy.
Onion - 1, chopped
Tomato - 2, chopped
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Basil leaves - a few
Heat oil and splutter mustard and urad dal.
Add onions and saute over medium heat until it changes colour.
Next, add the tomatoes and saute with salt until pulpy.
Add in the chilli powder and simmer until well blended. Add chopped Basil and cook for 1 minute.
Serve with Idli / Uthappam.
