A celebration to usher in the Spring season. Festivities and food are so entwined in our culture. We prepare some very specific dishes for each season and Festival; it does have a lot of significance.
But, today I am going to share a non-conventional sweet treat with you. Happy Holi!!!

Recipe adapted from Baker Street
Vegetable Oil - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Brown Sugar - 1/4 cup
Vanilla Extract - 1/2 teaspoon
Cornflour - 1 tablespoon + Water 1 tablespoon (OR use 1/2 Egg)
A.P Flour (Maida) - 3/4 cup
Baking Soda - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Chocolate Chips - I used both white and dark.
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease and line a Baking tray.
Sieve the maida with salt and soda.
Whisk the cornflour with water (I used this in the place of 1/2 Egg).
In a large bowl combine all the wet ingredients.
Gradually mix in the sieved flour.
Transfer to the prepared baking tray as one whole sheet Cookie (Or shape into 3 inch wide strips. Space them well as it does tend to spread).
Sprinkle Chocolate Chips on top and press lightly into the Cookie dough.
Bake in a pre-heated oven for 7 to 8 minutes.
Cool for 5 minutes in the tray and then cut into sticks.
Gently remove trips from tray and cool on wire racks.
There are quite a few variations to try.
