Knol Kohl Poriyal

Kalai aunty was an expert and I would be ready to try any new vegetable when she made it. We love Knol Kohl. Thanks to her. There are many ways of making it and today, as Amma likes crunchy onions, she has brought in a variation.

Knol Kohl - 4, chopped
Coarse Masala : coconut, green chilli, sombhu, salt, ginger, garlic, pepper, turmeric powder
Seasoning : sombhu, mustard, onions and curry leaves.

Take 2 teaspoon oil and 3 teaspoons water in a 2 litre pressure cooker.
Layer the Knol Kohl over it. Top with masala paste.
Pressure cook for 2 whistles on high flame.
Release pressure and add seasoning.
Mix and serve.

Seasoning : Heat a teaspoon of oil and add sombhu, mustard, onions and curry leaves.
Stir fry for a minute and add to cooked vegetables.
