What is OPOS ?
OPOS - One Pot One Shot; is the simplest cooking technique developed by Rama Krishnan (Food scientist and CEO of Pizza Republic). It uses just One Pot and the cooking is done at One Shot. No steps, no sequences and no supervision. Absolutely!!! OPOS aims to unchain you from the stove, and make cooking drudgery free and empower you to cook confidently with consistent results.
The concept of cooking in one shot is what is new in OPOS. Everything can be assembled in the comfort of your armchair (literally) and then set to cook in an induction stove (preferably - because it can be timed). Ta-da! All done. No splatter and absolutely no pressure on you. The result is guaranteed.
Once you master the technique you will find that all OPOS recipes are just a list of ingredients followed by a very brief cooking method.

What are the equipment's needed ?
  • 2 litre pressure cooker (as all the recipes are standardized for this size)
  • Induction stove (Ideal; though all you need is a cooking / heat source that can be controlled)
  • Stick blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife
  • Chopping board
  • Grater & Peeler
This is all that you will ever need. All OPOS recipes are designed to be cooked with just these and nothing more. You will get similar results provided you use the same equipment and follow the procedure verbatim; which includes measurements as well.

Is OPOS tried and tested?
OPOS recipes are validated a number of times by members (volunteers) of the Facebook group - United by Food. This group inspires and supports the novice and experienced alike.

Standardising Pressure Cooker is done for optimum results.
Take 1/4 cup (4 tablespoon)water in a 2 liter. Close and cook on high heat.
Have a stopwatch ready.
You should get the first whistle between 1 to 1.5 minutes. Then all is good.

Heat Adjustment.
High Heat - on an induction stove would mean 1200 W; and on a gas stove, the flame should cover the entire base.
Medium Heat - on an induction stove would mean 600 W.
